The Atomic Lounge.

If you know, you know. This place was pretty special to a lot of people. Known for it's eclectic décor and fuzzy costumes, the bar was nominated for a James Beard award three different times. The owners managed to create an atmosphere that encouraged people to put down their phones and enjoy each other's company, and that's what really set it apart.

Lydia told me about her idea for a 70's inspired shoot a while ago, but it took The Atomic saying goodbye to set it in motion. Lydia & Nick had frequented The Atomic since before they were married. Like so many others, it was their go-to spot in Birmingham and Feizal welcomed them when we walked in. The quirky interior was absolutely perfect for their 70s shoot, and we let it transport us back in time as we sipped our last Atomic beverages and created unique and meaningful images.
